What you need to know before you start
Do I need to buy anything to use these AI features?
No. Each AI capability is built into the GFI product you license. If you own GFI Archiver, GFI MailEssentials, or GFI Exinda, the AI feature is part of your product at no additional cost. GFI AppManager™ has a 60-day trial that is already active in your console.
Do I need to enable or activate anything?
For GFI AppManager™: no. Your trial is already active. Open the console and use the chat icon. For GFI Archiver and GFI MailEssentials: yes, a one-time setup is needed. You log in to the respective portal, answer a few questions, and download a rules file. For GFI Exinda: no. The AI tools are built directly into the product.
Does my email or network data leave my server?
For GFI Archiver and GFI MailEssentials: no. Your actual emails are never sent anywhere external. The only thing sent to the cloud is a description of your company and what you want to protect, so the AI can build the right rules. The actual scanning and filtering happens entirely on your own server. For GFI Exinda: only a general summary of which types of applications are running on your network is sent. No user names, no addresses, no network settings. For GFI AppManager™: your questions and the AI's answers are processed by external AI services. Your actual system data stays inside GFI AppManager.
Will this change my existing workflows or settings?
No. These AI features create recommendations and downloadable files. You review everything before anything changes. GFI Archiver and GFI MailEssentials produce files that you choose to import. GFI Exinda provides recommendations that your team decides whether to apply. GFI AppManager™ only answers questions. None of these features make changes to your systems on their own.
What happens when the GFI AppManager™ AI trial ends?
The trial ends July 24, 2026. After that, the AI chat feature is no longer available unless you purchase a license. Your existing GFI AppManager console and all other functionality continue as normal. Contact sales@gfi.com before July 24 to discuss options.
I own more than one GFI product. Do I get AI features for all of them?
Yes. If you own GFI Archiver, GFI MailEssentials, or GFI Exinda, the AI capability is already in each product you run. Each one has its own portal or setup process. They operate independently but cover more ground when used together. GFI AppManager™ can answer questions across your GFI environment from a single interface.
